Each individual Congress attendee is responsible for obtaining any necessary paperwork to bring their devices into Mexico. Congress of Quantum Masters will not be responsible for any problems arising from border/custom complications.

Obtaining an Carnet

A Carnet is basically a passport for particular goods to be carried with a person internationally. It serves to help the traveler clear customs without taxes, and minimize the risk of confiscation at risky border crossings. There are many websites and services which issue official Carnets for all sorts of products, goods, samples and demos. Here is one example - www.atacarnet.com/obtain-carnet

If you are traveling with multiple devices, more than one computer, other technologies or gadgets- you can also list those on your CARNET. Since it is essentially like applying for a passport, it is not something TQA can provide you with - each individual must apply for their own.

Valuation-One important factor to be aware of - while you may have purchased your INDIGO brand new for $24,000; there are many other costs associated in the retail price that are not associated with the device itself, such as the education, training and technical support you receive from TQA. You do not need to declare this as part of your device value. Its current value should NEVER be listed at $24,000 - this flags you and may make you more vulnerable to unreasonable taxation and/or extortion. Technology, like new cars, can be said to depreciate significantly fairly quickly. A more fair assessment of value to list for these purposes would be 40% of the original purchase price if it’s less than one year old; and even less if the device is older than one year.

Protection

Many practitioners keep their devices in a mylar lunchbox because mylar is said to keep out the effects of radiation which can over time affect the calibration. Our engineers say that you would have to travel 100-500 times with a INDIGO Device for it to become uncalibrated due to radiation from airport scanners.

The INDIGO engineers however confirm that travel would have to be far more frequent than that to have an effect through our solid metal encasement.

Carry On

The only thing we do not recommend while traveling with your device, if you can help it, is checking you device in with your luggage - only because of the frequency with which bags go missing.

Know Your Rights

If you are questioned by customs officials or airport security simply and confidently state that it is medical equipment that you need for personal use and health. In other words, tell the truth - you are not smuggling anything illegal; it is not capable of exploding; nor do you likely intend to sell it while in their country - these are the only things they are concerned about.

I have read and understand that before international travel with my device I should apply for and obtain a CARNET.
